Junior League of Boca Raton's Role
The Community Garden planning committee has written a comprehensive handbook, which includes a contract for gardeners, rules & regulations, and general gardening information. The handbook also establishes an organizational structure so the Community Garden can be launched to become a self-sustaining nonprofit to benefit our local community. We negotiated an agreement for land use with the City, and are working to raise funds to maintain our community garden.

City of Boca Raton's Role
Mayor Susan Whelchel approached JLBR to form the Community Garden partnership in Spring 2010. The City has been kind enough to offer 1 1/2 acre of land near downtown Boca, next to Library Commons, for the garden space.

Landscape Architect: Tonning & Associates, Inc.
A design for the garden has been donated in-kind by the award-winning, local landscape architecture firm, Tonning & Associates. Wayne Tonning of Tonning & Associates  has volunteered his time and expertise as a valuable resource during the garden planning period.

Landscaper: Sunflower Landscaping & Maintenance, Inc.
Doug Fash of Sunflower Landscaping & Maintenance, Inc. has donated countless hours to oversee the planning and installation of irrigation and landscaping at the BRCG. He has been an indispensable resource as we transitioned from planning into construction and completion of the garden design.

Master Gardener: Betsy Pickup
Betsy is a volunteer who has completed 100 hours of horticulture education from the University of Florida Cooperative Extension Service. As a Master Gardener she has helped with the Pearl City Community Garden, the Swinton Community Garden in Delray and the Poinciana Elementary School Garden in Boynton Beach.

Boca Helping Hands
At least 10% of what is grown will be donated to Boca Helping Hands.
